They say my feelings for you is blind. But you are not.
Yet you couldn’t see it,
Thinking it won’t take us to the cultural knots.
Just to make you feel it
Which your sense of vision would not,
Let this piece of card reveal it through embossed dots,
Which surely my words could not.
-Jeeva
Janani still siting in the stone bench, started reciting the poem lines in her mind. On reciting the last two lines, she understood that, the poem has something to do with a card which indirectly refers to the certificate she had in her hand. She checked front and back for any letters or symbols. Nothing was found. Curious and confused, she couldn’t stop her brain from running after clues in the poem like a treasure hunt.
The boy who was after her for 3 years, gave her a heart attack in front of the whole college and at last proposed her with a poetic riddle which she couldn’t able to crack. Her mind was just filled with this thought. Not able to control her blush and smile, she took out her mobile and texted Jeeva, “The girl you’ve just proposed is clueless with your riddle and have asked me for help…What to do..?” and started walking to her hostel.
Jeeva reached his room. Jumping right at the bed, he started punching the pillow with joy and laughter. His heart finally felt so light after letting down his hidden thought that he carried for 3 years. He took out his phone and saw Janani’s message. Smiling at her message, he texted, “I’ll tell you the clues and you speak to her on my behalf..?”. Immediately he got reply from her saying, “Sure..I’m ready..”.
Revealing the Clue through Texting – (Ignore the grammar for the below texts. It’s left un-edited to keep it close to reality.)
Jeeva – “First tell your prospective on the poem”
She – So 1st line is just direct.
In the 2nd “but you are not”….. I think you meant – “You are not blind to not know my feelings”
Blind is not literal blind… it’s something telling like, She knows about your feelings. But not willing to see that thinking that it won’t take you guys to marriage. Cultural knot means marriage.Jeeva – Glad you got it… Cultural knot is marriage. But, _____ is blind?
She – Ok, that’s Love is blind
Jeeva – yeah, actually I wanted to mean, my feelings for her is Love… Not crush.. or any infatuation..
She – Ok.. “Just to make you know which you purposefully ignored , this card will tell you….”Something like that?
Jeeva texted the clues as below
"Love is blind" - so something related to blind people
"Just to make you feel it" - take it literally... something related to feel or sense...one among all 5 senses
"which your sense of vision would not" - not related to seeing
She – Clues are complex
Jeeva – What are the 5 primary senses ?
She – Smell, see , touch , hear , taste ? I forgot … totally.. idk if I am right
Jeeva – Correct…. which one is used by blind people to feel?
She – “Touch”
Jeeva – Correct and “Let this piece of card reveal it through embossed dots,”, think on that..
She still couldn’t get anything
Jeeva – Blind people+ touch – what they touch and feel?
She – Haaan that oneee… I don’t get the name
Jeeva – Smiling and slapping his face with his hand, he texted “Braille script…”,
Reading his reply, “Braille script…”, she couldn’t get anything for a moment. Then slowly her mind got a thunderstrike and her eyes got widen with surprise. Keeping her phone down, she immediately took saw the certificate and momentum placed on her table. She rushed and pulled the certificate from the table causing the momentum to fall down. Not caring about it, she placed her hand on the certificate surface and started sweeping gently over it. She could feel some embossed dots on it’s surface arranged in a multiple linear lines. With overwhelming joy, she murmured with smile, “You, crazy idiot…”. She took out the phone and called Jeeva, “YOU ARE CRAZY…I never expected this…”, she shouted.
“You gave me your word that you’ll convey my love to her on my be-half…” , Jeeva casually replied from the other end.
“My brain is curious as hell…. I’ll kill you if you are here… Tell me what’s in it..”, she said.
He said, “You pushed me for it… As I promised, I’ve proposed her in front of the College Management with my heart felt love letter which was acknowledged by the Principal’s signature.”
“So my part is over. Read it and convey it to her… If you wish, you can add up some more words to it but make sure, she accepts my proposal”, he replied and cut the call.
Finally, after solving the poetic riddle but left with a love letter written in Braille’s script, Janani was sitting in her cot both furious and curious about what’s behind those embossed dots….
